My Daughter’s Last Hope
Ella is fifteen. As a father, your biggest fear is someone hurting your baby girl. I had no idea I would end up saving her from herself.
I knew something wasn’t right.
Ella was becoming more withdrawn, quiet. She would hibernate in her room only to come out for meals. Sure, you could say that’s a normal teenage tendency but not in Ella’s case. School became the enemy. The outbursts of anger coming more frequently. What was going on? Was this just teenage behavior or was there something more? We began to dig and found out Ella was being bullied at school.
She reached the end of her rope.
We got the call that no parents wants to get… a frantic classmate informing us that Ella had overdosed on sleeping pills. We found our daughter distraught, disoriented and panicked. Paramedics were called. That marked the beginning of a new road. After several weeks of inpatient and outpatient care, Ella’s recovery led us to Dr. Cash.
What a God-send.
In our search for a trusted provider and counselor, we found Dr. Taaka Cash on Psychology Today. After just one visit, we knew there was hope! In Ella’s one words,
“She doesn’t talk to me like a child or like an adult…she talks to me on my level.
She really is concerned for me. It’s real!”
The whole team supports us.
We know this journey has just begun. I have to be honest, it’s scary! The road before us is unknown BUT this team walking with us is our guide. Dr. Cash’s staff is incredible. They always follow up with us and seem to genuinely care for Ella. It’s like they have adopted Ella as one of their own. I will tell you, this is rare!
If you are reading this and find yourself in my shoes, please stop and call Dr. Cash! She and her staff are waiting to help. They have answers and will go the extra mile to make sure you are taken care of. Don’t give up. You have hope.
